We’re pleased to welcome the Rev. Dr. Kris McDaniel of Trinity Anglican Church and the Renewing the Center Podcast to talk about the elusive and often overlooked Third Person of the Trinity. Kris shares his own experience with the Holy Spirit’s power and presence and offers practical suggestions for inviting and intentionally pursuing the Spirit in our lives today.

On the first half of the podcast, Kris and host Erik Willits discuss:

  • Why the idea of the Holy Spirit is so elusive
  • The reason Jesus said, “It is good for you that I go”
  • Jesus’ paradigmatic relationship with the Holy Spirit
  • How and why we should invite the Spirit if His presence is already with us
We need to know that God wants to walk beside us and, through the Holy Spirit, breathe life into dead, hopeless places.

On the second half of the podcast, the conversation turns to:

  • Why we must actively seek the Spirit to fully experience Him
  • Baby steps to stillness and solitude
  • The role of power in the Christian’s life
  • How to think about spiritual gifts
Without intentionality, a rule of life, a way of being with God, we won’t experience much of what the Spirit has.
